VANILLA BEAN SYRUP

vanilla bean pods

water

vanilla  extract

Place sugar, water and vanilla extract in a small pot. Use a knife to cut down the center of each vanilla bean pod without cutting all the way through. Scrape the vanilla beans into the pot and add the whole pods when finished. Boil until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and allow syrup to cool.
