Strawberry Basil Lemonade

This Strawberry Basil Lemonade is the icy refreshing treat you need this summer!

I’m actually not a big lemonade fan but this recipe is a huge exception. I just love it. It’s so refreshing and the basil and strawberry just adds an element of fun that you’ll never get with regular lemonade. Again, I’m always trying to find ways to use up the herbs from my Aerogarden and this was another great one to add to my rotation!

How to make it

Start by making the simple syrup. Add equal parts sugar and water to a sauce pan and heat over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and the mixture begins to gently boil. Turn off heat.

Next, place the frozen strawberries, lemon juice and water in a blender and blend until liquified.

Next add the simple syrup. Start with the recommended 1/3 cup and then adjust to taste once you’ve muddled the basil and allowed it to sit.

Add the mixture to a pitcher with an infuser (affiliate link). Place the basil in the infuser and muddle it by pressing on the basil with the end of a spoon.

Allow this to sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the basil to infuse into the lemonade.

Serve over ice!
