Pumpkin Cold Foam Recipe (Starbucks Copycat)
You’re not going to believe how easy it is to make pumpkin cold foam. All you need is a few basic ingredients, a frother and some iced coffee/cold brew to pour it over!
I’m doing a pumpkin cold foam today in honor of pumpkin season being just around the corner! I’m a little late to the sweet cream / cold foam trend but I have been making up for it by having a cold brew coffee (using this cold brew recipe) with cold foam almost daily for the last few weeks. Adding this pumpkin cream cold foam on top of cold brew might just be my favorite fall drink right now!
It’s just as delicious as Starbucks’ version and man is it soo, soooo easy. The best part is that it’s free from all those artificial ingredients that are listed in the nutritional information for the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew on Starbucks’ website such as carrageenan and “natural flavors” (which, as we all know, could be anything). At the end of this post, I’ll also share an easy way to mix more of your favorite flavors into cold foam. Let’s make it!

Ingredients
Pumpkin cold foam (Starbucks Copycat Recipe)
All of these ingredients can be found at your local grocery store!
- real pumpkin puree
- sweetened condensed milk
- heavy whipping cream
- sea salt
- vanilla extract
- pumpkin pie spice
You will also need some iced coffee or cold brew of course! I add a little touch of maple syrup or vanilla syrup to the coffee so I get a little sweetness in the coffee itself as well. Feel free to omit if you like light sweetness or increase to your preference.
As far as equipment, you will need a handheld milk frother for best results.
Can you make cold foam with whole milk instead?
Yes and no. You can sub in whole milk for the heavy cream in this recipe and still yield a delicious & creamy addition to your iced coffee, but it just won’t thicken the way heavy cream does. So you can totally do it and have a delicious drink! Just don’t expect it to be as thick and sit on top of the coffee the way cold foam usually does.
How to make pumpkin cold foam
STEP 1: Add Cold Foam Ingredients to Separate Cup
Add the heavy whipping cream, pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, sea salt, vanilla and pumpkin pie spice to a glass. You will want to use a different glass than the one you plan to drink from.
STEP 2: Add Coffee to Drinking Cup
Get your drinking glass and fill it with your desired amount of ice. Measure out 1 cup of your favorite homemade cold brew or store-bought and a splash of milk (I prefer oat milk), if desired. I have a whole post about how to make your own cold brew coffee in a french press!
STEP 3: Whip Cold Foam
Now use your milk frother to whip up that cold foam! Whip until the mixture is nice and thick, it will only take about 1 minute.
STEP 4: Pour Cold Foam
Lastly, pour your iced coffee over the ice, add a touch of maple syrup if you like, then in goes your homemade pumpkin cream and voila! You have one amazing homemade coffee with your very own delicious, amazing, wonderful cold foam!
Other cold foam flavors to try
My go-to is just: heavy cream, condensed milk, vanilla and a heavy pinch of sea salt. Even without the flavors of pumpkin spice, cold foam tastes unbelievably amazing.
I’ve also tried mixing in seedless/non-chunky fruit jams and that has worked really well! I do have a pumpkin spice sauce that you can try using as well!
If you don’t have or don’t want to use sweetened condensed milk, you can also use maple syrup, simple syrup or agave syrup to sweeten your cold foam.
Storage Instructions
To store leftover pumpkin foam, keep it in the fridge in an airtight container such as a mason jar for up to 5 days.

- 1 heaping tbsp canned pumpkin puree
- 1 1/2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 3 tbsp heavy cream
- 1/8 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/8 tsp sea salt
- splash of vanilla extract

- 1/2 tsp maple syrup *see notes
- 1 cup cold brew or pre-made espresso

- Add ice to a drinking glass, then add the cold brew and maple syrup, stir.

Notes
Maple syrup: feel free to either increase or eliminate this. I prefer just a touch of sweetness in the coffee if you like to let the cold foam gradually mix into your drink like I do. This amount is what you want if you prefer light-medium sweetness in your coffee drinks.
