Ingredients

Peanut Butter Mocha

  • coffee – I prefer to buy whole bean coffee and grind it fresh for each cup
  • water
  • smooth peanut butter – a more processed type works best. I used Trader Joe’s
  • cocoa powder
  • sugar
  • vanilla
  • milk
  • ice

How to make a peanut butter mocha

So when I make lattes and mochas at home, I simply brew strong coffee (with very little water if I’m making an iced drink) in a french press. It’s easy and fuss-free. I understand lattes and mochas are made with espresso but coffee works too!

So, start by adding ground coffee to your french press, then pour in boiling water. Steep for 5 minutes.

While the coffee brews, add cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla and peanut butter to the bottom of your glass. When the coffee is ready, pour in a small amount over the ingredients.

A mini whisk is super helpful here and when making other drinks! Vigorously whisk the peanut butter and dry ingredients in to the coffee until smooth.

Then pour in the remaining coffee.

Add in the milk, then ice (if making this iced) and enjoy! Please note, this is a fairly large serving and a decent amount of caffeine. You can definitely split this into two glasses to share.

If you want to make this a hot drink, simply heat/steam your milk before adding to the peanut butter coffee mixture.

And if you swap out peanut butter with Nutella, you can make a darn good Nutella latte, too!
