Peach Iced Green Tea (Starbucks Copycat Recipe)
Making your own fresh, Peach Iced Green Tea is so easy and way healthier than Starbucks!
Nine times out of ten, I am going to want my tea beverages to be hot. But a Peach Iced Green Tea on a hot day is just what I want. If you are a fan of Starbuck’s Peach Iced Green Tea you will love this recipe. It tastes similar but is much healthier as it’s made from real peaches. Actually, you will only need 3 ingredients to make it (not including water!). Let’s make it!
Ingredients in Peach Iced Green Tea
If you actually go to Starbuck’s website and look at the peach green tea ingredients, you won’t find any peaches. You will see a ‘peach flavored juice blend’ listed that doesn’t include any mention of peaches!
You will see: water, white grape juice concentrate, citric acid, natural flavors, fruit and vegetable juice for color (pumpkin sweet potato, apple, radish, cherry). And something called rebaudioside a?
here’s what you’ll need to make my iced peach green tea:
- Green tea bags
- Peaches – fresh are best, but you can use canned/jarred as well
- Honey, simple syrup or agave nectar
- Fresh mint – optional for adding flavor or just for garnish
How to make peach iced green tea
Step 1: Steep green tea
First, things first. Boil water and steep your green tea for 2 minutes. This recipe calls for 2 tea bags per cup of water for extra strong tea. This helps keep the tea from getting watered down.
Also make sure to set a timer (affiliate link) for your tea! If you steep tea too long, it will become bitter.
Step 2: Sweeten the tea
While the tea is warm, add the honey, simple syrup or agave nextar. This will help it blend in smoothly! If you are particular about sweetness, you can also wait until you blend in the peach juice so you can test and adjust to your preferences.
Step 3: Blend peaches until smooth
While the tea is steeping and cooling, place peaches in a blender with a small amount of water. Blend until mostly smooth. Strain to remove peach pulp.
Step 4: Combine peach puree & tea
Add the peach puree to the green tea mixture.
Step 5: Enjoy your Starbucks copycat peach iced green tea!
