No Bake Peanut Butter Fudge (With Brown Butter)

This No-bake Peanut Butter Fudge is super creamy and can be made with just 3 ingredients! It’s an easy, crowd-pleasing treat for the holiday season but also for summer because it’s no-bake. I do a little twist on this classic holiday fudge by using brown butter and it makes it so much more delicious!

I’m getting a jump on the holiday season this year with this peanut butter fudge. Like most fudge out there, this one is great to make and give as a gift or to bring to a pot luck. It can be made with just 3 ingredients— peanut butter, powdered sugar and butter– or you can add a couple extra touches like sea salt and vanilla. Either way it’s delicious! Let’s make it!

Ingredients in no bake peanut butter fudge

I love a 3 ingredient recipe, but I also love sea salt annnnd vanilla. So you can definitely make this fudge with just peanut butter, confectioner’s sugar and butter and skip those two!

peanut butter fudge ingredients
  • Butter – I use salted butter in pretty much all my baked goods now and have no complaints.
  • Creamy peanut butter: make sure to use a no-stir peanut butter like JIF or Skippy. The natural types that you need to stir don’t work in this recipe.
  • Powdered sugar – also called confectioner’s sugar. It’s helpful to sift before adding to the fudge mixture to prevent lumps.
  • Vanilla extract (optional) – just for another layer of flavor.
  • Sea salt (optional for topping) – I love adding a little sea salt (affiliate link) to almost all my desserts. It just helps balance out the sweetness (and this fudge is pretty sweet!) and it feels fancy.

How to make no bake peanut butter fudge

Step 1

First, brown the butter. Brown butter might sound a little fancy but its super easy and anyone can do it. Just place the butter in a small pot over medium-low heat. Cook until butter is slightly amber in color and little brown flecks can be seen in the bottom of the pot.

Step 2

Add the peanut butter as soon as butter browns and reduce heat to low. Stir until peanut butter is melted and remove from heat. If using vanilla, add it at this point.

Step 3

Add powdered sugar and stir until smooth. Pour into prepared 8in x8in baking dish. Let the fudge set up in the fridge, this will take about 2 hours.

Step 4

Cut fudge into small squares or desired size and top with sea salt if using.

Storage Instructions

Store extra bars in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
