Chocolate Shell Ice Cream Topping
Did you know you can make chocolate shell topping for ice cream in one minute?! With two ingredients?! It’s amazing and true!
I don’t know how long of a post I can make out of this chocolate shell topping because it’s so simple and so quick to make. Just chocolate chips and coconut oil are all you need! I almost always have these two ingredients in my cupboard and I love being able to make this whenever a craving strikes!
Ingredients
As promised, only two:
- Coconut oil
- Chocolate chips
Woohoo!
How to make chocolate shell Ice cream topping
Wait for it….. Put the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl and melt away my friend. It should take somewhere between one and two minutes for the chocolate to melt completely. Start with one minute and stir. If there’s still lumps, put it back in the microwave for an additional minute.
How to use
Ice cream sundaes seem like an obvious choice, but this also is perfect for dipping popsicles, like my banana split ones I made last month.
You could dip fruit slices like bananas or whole strawberries and then freeze. I like to buy the frozen chocolate covered strawberries and bananas from Trader Joe’s and I’m thinking this would work to make those at home.
I hope you give this chocolate shell topping a whirl. It’s so easy, and its free of any weird ingredients. If you make it, be sure to leave a comment and rating down below. And of course, find me on instagram @thefigjar! I’d love to hear how you liked it!
