It's easy to up your matcha latte experience by making a quick lavender syrup. It adds sweet floral notes that pair great with earthy matcha.

Lavender Syrup

  • 1 1/2 tbsp food-grade dried lavender flowers
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Lavender Matcha Latte

  • 1 1/2 tsp ceremonial grade matcha powder (unsweetened)
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 1 tbsp lavender syrup
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice

Instructions

Lavender Syrup Instructions

  1. Combine lavender flowers, sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. When the mixture comes to a boil, reduce heat to maintain a simmer and cook for about 5 more minutes.

  3. Strain the syrup through a mesh sieve to remove lavender. Store syrup in a jar in the fridge and enjoy for up to 2 weeks.

Lavender Matcha Latte Instructions

  1. Add matcha to a wide-mouthed drinking glass or mug.
  2. Add 2 tbsp hot water and use a matcha whisk and whisk until smooth. Then add lavender syrup and whisk again.

  3. Fill the cup with ice, then add milk. Stir and enjoy!

Notes

To make this drink hot – Add hot milk to the latte at the same step

Milkfeel free to use any milk you like. I prefer oat milk or skim milk.

Matcha – if you missed it in the post– you don’t have to use ceremonial grade matcha. Culinary grade is ok to use in a matcha latte, but has a more bitter taste and not as vibrant of a color. But it still makes a decent latte!
