The title of this post sort of looks like a typo but it’s not! Today’s recipe is for a no-churn ice cream that is packed with classic ice cream sundae toppings. I love it. Maraschino cherries, chopped peanuts, chocolate and of course—sprinkles! Plus no-churn ice cream is so easy to make and aside from the mixins you only need 4 ingredients!

Ingredients for no-churn ice cream

  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Sweetened condensed milk
  • Vanilla
  • Salt
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Salt and roasted peanuts
  • Chocolate syrup or chocolate chips & coconut oil
  • Sprinkles!

You really can add any mix-ins you like, the possibilities are endless!

How to make no-churn ice cream

I am still in disbelief that you can make ice cream this way. No pounds of rock salt and no bulky contraption, just a few simple tools and ingredients are all you need.

You will start by making whipped cream. Just add the whipped cream to a stand mixer–you can use an electric hand mixer if that’s all you have–and beat it! Combine with the sweetened condensed milk, freeze for 2 hours, then add the mix-ins. Freeze for a few more hours and voila! Ice cream!

Units Scale
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup salted peanuts (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherries (chopped)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Make whipped cream: add heavy whipping cream to the bowl of a stand mixer and beat on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form.
  2. Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a smaller bowl, add vanilla and a pinch of salt, whisk to combine.
  3. Add about 1 cup of the whipped cream to the condensed milk and gently fold it in. Once incorporated, add this mixture back into the whipped cream and fold gently to combined.
  4. Add the whipped cream mixture to the loaf pan, spread evenly and smooth out the top. Place in the freezer for 2 hours.
  5. Make chocolate sauce: melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in the microwave at 1 minute intervals until chocolate is melted.
  6. Remove loaf pan from the freezer. Add peanuts, cherries, sprinkles and desired amount of chocolate and stir to incorporate. Freeze for an additional 3 hours.
  7. Enjoy!

Notes

If you don’t want to make the chocolate shell topping, you can just use chocolate syrup.
