Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Suggested toppings

  • cheddar cheese
  • lettuce
  • tomato
  • pickles
  • pickled onion
  • mayo or bbq sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat with 2 tbsp olive oil.
  2. Use your hands to combine ground chicken with spices in a mixing bowl.
  3. Once the seasonings are evenly distributed, flatten the chicken mixture into an even layer in the bottom of the bowl. Use your hand to score the meat into four even sections.
  4. Scoop out one section at a time and shape the meat into a patty. Form a small crater in one side of the patty to keep the patty from excessively shrinking.
  5. Place burger patties in the hot pan, making sure they do not touch.
  6. Cook on each side, until golden brown and an internal temperature of 165F is reached. Usually about 4-5 minutes per side.
  7. As the burgers finish cooking, transfer to a baking sheet or plate and top with cheese. Loosely cover with foil or parchment to encourage the cheese to melt.
  8. Toast hamburger buns under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until toasted.
  9. Serve burgers with desired toppings and enjoy!
