Easy Fig and Prosciutto Pizza
This Fig and Prosciutto Pizza is amazing. With goat cheese and a sweet balsamic glaze, it feels fancy but it’s super easy!
I’m always happy when I can share a recipe with figs. This is the fig jar, after all. But I’m also very happy when a recipe comes out literally perfect on the first try. This pizza is exactly how I imagined it! This is a simple recipe that comes together quickly enough for a weeknight meal, but is special enough for any occasion. I used a store bought pizza dough this time (thank you, Trader Joe’s), but you can certainly make your own! Everything else requires minimal prep so it’ll be ready in no time. Let’s make it!

While figs might not be the first pizza ingredient you think of, they certainly go beautifully on this pizza! The sweetness from the figs and balsamic glaze is perfect with creamy goat cheese. Salty prosciutto adds the ever important element in any dish – saltiness!
Ingredients you’ll need for fig & prosciutto pizza
The flavors in this pizza are so balanced. There’s sweet, salty, savory, and a touch of peppery spice! But there’s not too much of any one flavor. I got almost all of these ingredients from Trader Joe’s! To make fig and prosciutto pizza you will need:
- Pizza dough – store-bought or homemade is fine, if you’re feeling like making your own, try my simple homemade pizza dough or sourdough pizza dough
- Olive oil – instead of using a typical pizza sauce, I simply brushed the dough liberally with olive oil and minced garlic
- Fresh figs – I used tiger striped figs from Trader Joe’s, but you can really use whatever type of fig you can get your hands on
- Goat cheese – I got mine from Trader Joe’s
- Prosciutto – prosciutto is essentially an italian type of ham. To me it tastes a bit like a cross between ham and bacon. It’s delicious, especially when it gets crispy- like on this pizza
- Balsamic glaze (affiliate link) – we drizzle this over the pizza once it’s baked. I really like the one I’ve linked, but you can also make your own. I have a recipe in this post
- Fresh arugula – this will also go on top of the pizza after it’s baked. It adds the perfect bit of freshness to the finished dish
- Black pepper – a touch of black pepper goes on the pizza before baking and then we’ll top it off with more
How to make fig & prosciutto pizza
Step 1
Take out all of your ingredients for a quick and easy assembly. Combine olive oil and minced garlic in a small bowl and set aside. Slice figs and tear prosciutto into small pieces.
Step 2
Oil your pizza pan well and press the dough into the pan evenly. I used my barebones cast iron flat pan for this pizza. I actually almost always use it for pizza, it’s so great! This pan is 12 inches in diameter, but you could use a slightly larger pan if you want a thinner crust.
Step 3
Now all you gotta do is top the pizza with those delicious toppings. But first brush generously with the garlic oil. You might have some extra and that’s ok! You can either drizzle it over the finished pizza or save it for cooking later. Then go to town with those toppings! Don’t forget to add a few turns of freshly cracked black pepper once you’ve added all the toppings.
Step 4
Now bake! Your oven should be hot – 425F for best results!

Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough
- 4–6 small figs (sliced)
- 3 oz goat cheese (crumbled)
- 2–3 slices prosciutto (torn into small pieces)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)
- 3 cups arugula
- balsamic glaze (to drizzle)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425F.
- Grease a 12-inch pizza pan liberally with oil or butter. (see note)
- Pour olive oil into a small dish and add the minced garlic. Set aside.
- Press dough into pan evenly, up to the edges.
- Brush pizza dough generously with garlic oil.
- Top the pizza with goat cheese crumbles, torn prosciutto and sliced figs. Add a few turns of freshly cracked black pepper or just sprinkle with pepper.
- Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the crust and the prosciutto is browned.
- After removing pizza from the oven, top with fresh arugula, balsamic glaze and more black pepper.
- Enjoy!
Notes
Pizza pan – for a thinner crust, feel free to use a larger pan. You might need a tad more goat cheese, an extra slice of prosciutto and a fig or two to cover the whole surface area.
