You might look at these brownies and think they must be more complicated than a typical brownie, but they’re not! Really, the only difference is we are going to use white chocolate instead of regular chocolate and of course, we are going to add matcha!

  • How to make brownies with matcha

Start by melting the butter in the microwave. You can also melt it on the stovetop if you wish. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter and white chocolate chips.

Here’s where the crinkly top magic happens. Add the eggs, sugar and vanilla to a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer until thick, creamy and lightened in color. This will take about 6-10 minutes.

Then whisk in the matcha white chocolate mixture.

    Freezing instructions

If you want to freeze these matcha brownies and save some for a rainy day you totally can! Just place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment (with space in between each brownie) and freeze for about an hour. Then place in a ziploc back or air-tight, freezer-safe container. It’s important not to skip that hour of freezing on a baking sheet so the brownies don’t freeze in one clump.
