Chocolate Popsicles With Cherry and Greek Yogurt
Chocolate Popsicles with creamy greek yogurt, sweet maraschino cherries and rich chocolate. Perfect for when you need a cool treat but still want something indulgent!
I’ve been loving using my popsicle mold so much. I have many more ideas for flavors combos that I can’t wait to get to. But today lets focus on just this one: Homemade Cherry Fudgsicles with Greek Yogurt. Smooth, rich chocolate with sweet cherry bits scattered throughout. I tried this recipe a few different ways and they all worked but this was my favorite version.

The first time I made chocolate popsicles I used whipped cream and frozen cherries. They were so good! But the whipped cream left the pops with a lot of air pockets and that just bugged me. Also, although they were delicious (hello frozen whipped cream and condensed milk), I wanted to have something that felt indulgent but wasn’t quite as indulgent as it seemed.
So I tried again. I used greek yogurt and cream and still used frozen cherries. They were still good. But just not where I wanted them and I realized that for me, the main problem was the cherries. They were just too tart and I wasn’t into it. I happen to love maraschino cherries but I know a lot of people don’t and I guess I was sort of resisting them for that reason.
I decided to just follow my heart. So I made them with those bright chemical red little sugar bombs and I’m so glad I did.

How to make Chocolate Popsicles
Just put everything in a bowl, mix and pour my friend. It really is that easy to make your own popsicles/fudgsicles. The one thing I have to note is: many of the cherry pieces will sink to the bottom of the bowl.
My advice: Just pour (leaving ever an ever so slight extra bit of room in each mold) until the liquid is mostly gone, then just use a spoon to gently redistribute the cherry pieces. Start with the first mold you poured as those will have the least amount of cherry pieces.
Also note: If you aren’t a fan of maraschino cherries, try using frozen (but thawed) or even fresh cherries if you want. Go with whatever sounds good to you.
Equipment for Chocolate Popsicles
- Popsicle mold: It is so worth the tiny investment. The link here is to the one I use and I love it.
- Popsicle sticks: The mold I’ve linked to above comes with sticks so you’re all set if you go with that one. Otherwise you can get popsicle sticks wherever you get your popsicle sticks.
- Spouted bowl or large measuring cup: This is important. It makes pouring the mix into the molds a million times easier than trying to pour it in from any other vessel. Trust me. For this recipe, you will need one that holds up to four cups.
